Ejadah initiative Fluorescent hand washing lotion and light

When the whole world started to realize the impacts of Covid 19 and the full-blown pandemic, everyone focused on disinfection. Ejadah took a proactive approach and our first focus was on hand washing /hygiene especially as prevention is far better than cure.

Hand hygiene is most definitely the easiest and cheapest way to prevent spreading infections. Knowing that one in five do not wash their hands and of those only 30% use soap, combined with the fact that 80% of all infections are transmitted by hand. We ran an interactive 90 minute long ‘Teams’ training session with over 100 attendees.

A key highlight was the use of an UV fluorescent hand lotion and light which safely simulate the presence of microorganism. They saw with their own eyes the amount of fluorescent   simulated contaminants left behind after ineffective washing. (Very similar to disclosing tablets given by dentists to encourage greater brushing techniques and mouth hygiene). This was followed up with a trainer conducting hand washing sessions both in the camp and visiting various sites.
